sorry for the late posting,,, ( eventho I already told u that I'll submit a new post yesterday >,<) yesterday was a busy day... but for starter,, a bit info about CNY for those who doesn't even know what the hell CNY is..

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is often called the Lunar New Year ,celebrated by all chinese across the globe. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the chinese calender and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year's Eve is known as Chúxī. It literally means "Year-pass Eve".

depends with the region, most people celebrate CNY in different ways ( the activities )

Yusheng , yee sang or yuu sahng (simplified chinese: 鱼生; pinyin: yúshēng) is a Chaozhou-style raw fish salad. It usually consists of strips of raw fish (most commonly salmon), mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, among other ingredients. Yusheng literally means "raw fish" but since "fish (鱼)" is commonly conflated with its homophone "abundance (余)", Yúshēng (鱼生) is interpreted as a homophone for Yúshēng (余升) meaning an increase in abundance. Therefore, yusheng is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor.

Today, this dish is served as an appetizer to raise 'good luck' for the new year and is usually eaten on the CNY eve or on Renri, the seventh day of the Chinese New Year. In a celebration known as "lo hei" (Cantonese 撈起 or 捞起), families and friends gather around the table and, on cue, proceed to toss the shredded ingredients into the air with chopsticks while saying 吉祥话 (Jíxiáng Huà, auspicious wishes) out loud to mark the start of a prosperous new year and it's customary that the higher you toss, the greater your fortunes!

this kind of dishes is usually served by chinese in Malaysia, Singapore, China and some other part around the globe, but, in my country, Indonesia, we are not eating this dishes.

but instead of talking about the difference, let us discuss the similarities.

1st thing 1st, CNY means cleaning time~
we clean our house as clean as possible......
and it is a war against time ( especially if u have a big house )

when i was a kid, i always help my maids and mom to clean the house ( i found it fun to clean while playing )
but not anymore
I'm a bad son now~ wakkaak........

It is believed the cleaning sweeps away the bad luck of the preceding year and makes their homes ready for good luck.

2nd. visiting / pray to our ancestors

You can choose whether you go to your ancestor's tomb to pay a visit + praying or just praying at your home.
Well, my family choose pray at home, and we done this the day before CNY, here ar the pics :

the ritual itself is a bit long, so im not really remember the step by step.

but here are some facts :

the number of bowls represent the number of our ancestors.

each colour of the fruits represent something.

each dishes also represent something.

but unfortunately, im not really remember what is what @_@ LOL

3rd. do not throw garbage !!

in chinese new year, we are not allowed to throw garbage, i dont really remember the reasons why, but i think it is related with prosperity and stuffs.

they even said that, few decades ago ( when my grandma still young ), we can not throw the garbage up to 3 days !!

and in those 3 days, the garbage that we produce is like a mountain !!!

4. do not turn off the light !!

at the eve of CNY until the CNY we are not allowed to turn off the light in our home, well, its also something related with superstitious..

i think that light is as a guidance or signal so that the luck will come to us, so the brighter the home, the more luck will come.

correct or not ?

5. do not close the door !!

same as above, superstitious,,,,,
( welcome to robbers !! it's a right place to go to )

luck comes in, bad luck comes out~


6. do not sleep until midnight+

do not worry with robbers, we are still wide awake to welcome you !! XD


7. pray at midnight

( continuation from no.6 ) when the midnight comes, 00.00, we pray to god for a prosperous, health, wealth, etc year ahead.
( we are greedy, thats why we asked for everything. LOL )


8. hongbao


this is what kid and teens waiting for,,,,
the best blessing of the year.

FREE MONEY~

that comes with a red envelope.

the size of hongbao is varies, from small, medium to big size.

the size of the hongbao represent the status in the family.

the small hongbao is always given to the kids and teens.

the medium hongbao is given to young adults who havent married.

the big one is for the elder.

but nowadays, people tend to give kids, teens and young adult the same size of hongbao, since too much hassle / work to differentiate and prepare that much hongbao differently.
( but it seems that the recipient also didnt mind bout that, since what they mind is the contain rather than the envelope.... LOL )

but for the elder, it still the same. Elder gets the biggest and preetiest hongbao as a symbol of respect from the younger ones.

Let us reveal the mystery of our satellite "Moon"


1. It's older than it looks

Scientist discovered that the age of moon is older than our Earth, and surprisingly, also older than the Sun.

Determined using computer models of stellar evolution and nucleocosmochronology, their age are:

Earth : 4.54 billion years
Sun : 4.57 billion years
Moon : 5.3 billion years

amazin isnt it ? moon is 1 billion years older than the sun and moon.

seeing how it grow, thats what we called cretinism isnt ? LOL

2. It's also weaker than it looks

As a planet, normally,,, the deeper the depth, the stronger the substance / layer.
why is it like that ? well, its simply to protect the core of the planet.

but, for "Moon" its the other way around.

its harder in its surface !!! in the surface, the layer is harder than a titanium, but inside of it ?
well, it was as soft as a sponge ( hyperbolic of course )

The biggest crater in the moon is "South Pole-Aitken basin", calculated roughly 2500 kilometers in diameter and 13 kilometers deep, it is the largest known impact crater in the entire Solar System.

and what if those meteor / asteroid which caused that damage to moon hit the earth ?

3. unknown source

The rock which taken by Apollo ( 380 kg ) shows a unique compositions of pure titanium, chromium,yttrium, uranium 236, neptunium 237, and many other substances which is impossible to be formed naturally.

therefore, some said that, our moon is a big space ship,,,, which invented by an alien @_@


4. moon vs sun

how come the eclipse of the moon and eclipse of the sun could happened ?

well,, simply because :

the size of the sun is 395 times bigger than the moon, and the distance from earth to sun is also 395 times from moon to earth.

that's why the size of the sun is exactly the same as moon as we sees it from earth.

fascinating isn't it ?

5. the orbit



as you can see from the pic above, the orbit of planets and satellites in our solar system is oval shaped.

but, our "Moon" is the only satellite which has a near perfect circle shaped orbit.

6. how the hell this thing made ?

well, there are many theories discussing "how the hell this thing made", but none seems to be proved true.

some people said that moon is a part of earth which plug off ( simply said ) by a HARD BANG by something... maybe meteor or asteroid or something,,,

then some say that it was a mixed of galaxy dust which condensed, etc

but, recent founding shows that, if a moon came from earth, then, its impossible for earth to have a perfect round shape.

so, the origin of moon is still a big question marks....

7. it fits perfectly

then, the weight of the moon is perfectly fit with earth's gravity

like a ***** fit inside of ******
( i dunnow what to fill, so you guys fill it by urselves,,, giggle )

and, if only moon gets heavier that this, the moon will surely bang the earth~

some people do curious whether did I managed to get home or not,,

and the answer is,,,

YES !!!!

and, its been 5 days.

and yesterday, in the 4th day, i measure my weight

before : 58 kg
after : 62 kg

yeah !!!! I gain 1kg/days...

losing passport part 2

so, after feeling all tired from searchin the long-gone passport,,,,,,

i decided to rest for a while,,, ( intended to sleep )
just relax myself from all the stress.

and its kindda hard to sleep since its already morning, and the sun shines so brightly.

but, i still tried my best.
( to sleep of course,,, XD )

then, when I just,,,,,,,,,,,, get sleepy, just one more step to the dreamy land,

my cellphone rang with full volume and vibrated all the way to disturb my sleep ~_~

well, i believe you knew who the hell is calling me......

yeah,,,, it's my boss a.k.a dad a.k.a disaster

and i was like,,,,, GOTCHA !!! You got one lottery ticket to make daddy angry a.k.a HELL !!!
so, i was prepared to get scolded and stuffs,,,

but in the end,,,, somehow,,,,, dunnow why,,,,,,,,, he didnt !!!!
he just lecturing me for a couple of minutes.

and thats it !!!

for that,
i thx my dad to understand my condition at that moment~ <3 style="text-align: center;">.

losing passport part 1

I know that the update is kindda slow, but its because

I had a tough week this past few weeks ( this few days to be more precise )

the small problem was my final exam and the biggest problem was a problem bout my passport

I LOST IT !!!!!!

and I just realized it the moment i wanted to go to KLIA ( Kuala Lumpur International AIrport )
to go back to Surabaya then take another flight to go to my hometown in Banjarmasin

i was like WTF !!!

and the taxi was already waiting for me in front of my apartment.

so, i searched it like crazy, i mean,,,

real crazy,,,,

I threw away things everywhere,, I unpacked my luggage to find the passport, i looked at it at my room, kitchen, bathroom, living room.

basically everywhere..
( i even looked up my refrigerator XD wakkaka.... )

i was SSSOOOO.... panic at that moment,,,

and the continuous call from the taxi driver really is driving me crazy,,,,

1st call : "did you found it ?"

2nd call : "how is it ?"

3rd call : "have you found it ?"

4th call : "so, how about me ?"

5th : aiyaa,,,,, I already cancel my appointment to fetch you somemore, and this is the result.

and i was like,,,,

dude,,, i didnt meant to lost it too you know,,,

it was an accident,,,,

and i didnt lost it just to trick / pull a prank to you so that i can cancel our appointment.


and as the time passed by while im still panicking...

the time is already 6 something in the morning, and my flight was 8.15 AM
( this accident happened in January 12th 2009 )

and it takes 1 and a half hour at max speed to reach the airport, and 2 hours if the speed is around 100 km/h

not to mention if theres a traffic jam..

so,,,,

i missed my chance to go back to my hometown.
sobs...

because the date of the flight cant be changed / postponed since i bought the promotional ticket which is the cheapest one.

therefore,, i lost my ticket from Kuala Lumpur - Surabaya and another flight from Surabaya - Banjarmasin at the same day.

so, basically to conclude it all,

i lost my passport, student visa, hundreds of ringgit for the flight ticket( malaysia currency ), and most importantly, my time.

up until now,,,
my diary is kindda stuck at "went home part 3"

and that was like,,,, happened 2 months ago...

and there are many things happened in this past 2 months...... XD

haha,,,,

so, i think i need to catch up with it.
and my deepest apology for the late update

Went Home part 4

then, at that night...

my uncle told us that our grandma is hospitalized,,,

and according to him, possibly, our grandma was struck by a light stroke

stroke is :
"the rapidly developing loss of brain functions due to a disturbance in the blood vessels supplying blood to the brain."
according to wikipedia


but, my uncle told us not to worry too much, because her condition is getting better already, after they sent her to hospital.

but still,
we were all worried with her...

especially my mom.

so, tomorrow afternoon....

we went to see her at the hospital



but, thankfully, after we arrived at the hospital, we were informed that it wasnt caused by a light stroke.

then, awhile after that, the doctor came in to check my grandma

Doctor : Did you eat any pork yesterday ?

Grandma : Yes, Sate Babi / Pork Satay ( see it at previous post )

D : Is that pork came from surabaya ?

G : Yes, why ?

D : it is food poisoning
( he said it without hesitating )

its because bla bla bla bla ( the doctor gives us explanation )

then the doctor leave.

but, even after explained by the doctor, there are still some other versions why our grandma laying at the hospital.

grandma version :
it is impossible because of the pork, I only ate 2 sticks only !!!
you guys also ate it right ?
( well, it is true that we all ate that pork satay, me myself, ate around 10 sticks, and im as healthy as a cow XD )


auntie 1 version :
agreed with the doctor, she said its because of my grandma is old already, thats why her immune system isnt as good as us the young ones.
( this one is true also )

auntie 2 and my mom version :
its because she was overworked yesterday

Yes !!! my grandma is still working until today.

day to day basis :
she sometimes helps my uncle as a cashier at the bakery ( she said that there is nothing to do at home, so she wants to make herself busy with something @_@ )

then at evening / night, she's doing the financial record for the bakery.

but for yesterday, she do a bit more than usual.
she went somewhere afar riding a pickup truck ( around 2-4 hours ) to buy a supply for the bakery

then at the night, she attend a party.

and thats basically why she get ill, according to my mom and aunt

and there are still some other version, but im too lazy to write it here XD
( and her condition now, is as health as ever again ^^ )

and i think thats enough for now...

How Lucky We Are 1

In this very first day of new year,,,

i would remind every readers of mine, how lucky we are today.

how fortunate we are,,,

how little our problems are, compared with others.

how selfish is our act can be ?

and most importantly, how we not appreciate the things that we have,,,

In this "How lucky we are 1", I want to talk about starvation,,,

For most of us, who have an internet....

food is not a problem that we need to think of, we can eat whenever we want.

eat whatever we want...

and, as much as we want...

we can eat just a 1/4 of it, 1/2 of it, 1 portion, 2 portion, etc

we can choose the amount of food we take....

but, ladies and gentleman.....

things is just way to different in another places,

in the suburb area, in slump area, at the side of the road, and many other places.

we used to saw it,,, SO MANY TIMES !!!!

but we pretend that we don't

we just simply ignore their existences.

yes !! that MUD !!! semi-liquid mixture of water and some combination of soil, slit, and clay.

or also called "dirt cake"

FYI, people eating those food in some part of the world ( especially in Haiti )

and the taste will last for hours in your mouth, that taste of mud.

and they eat that cake 3 times a day !!!!
